Lil Keed, a rapper signed with Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life label, died Friday in Los Angeles. He was 24 years old.

A representative confirmed the musician’s death to the New York Times on Saturday, just hours before Keed (real name: Raqhid Jevon Render) performed at a music festival in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Keed’s brother, rapper Lil Gotit, also confirmed the tragic news via Instagram.

“I can’t believe I saw you die today brother,” he wrote. “I made all my screams, I know what you want me to do and for Mama Daddy Our brothers Naychur and Whiteboy is tough.”

Shortly after the news broke, fans of the Atlanta rapper took to social media to react and share their condolences.

“WTF is moving forward ??? My brother and I just recorded !!” wrote DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia. “We did one for his new album, but before he left the studio he dropped a quick verse and said, ‘This is for you, Paul … this is for you.’ to go”.

“I love you very little what to do without you, I can’t breathe well, sleep well, nothing, I don’t even want to talk to anyone Keed, I can’t stand it,” he explained. “What should I say to Naychur? Keed spoke about the importance of family in an August 2020 interview with Complex. When asked what he wanted fans to know about him at the time, the rapper “Nameless” told the channel that he was making music for his 3-year-old daughter, Naychur.

“I have my daughter on my page every day, all day. I spend all my time with my daughter, “he said.” Then, of course, my mother and my family. I stay with my family. I don’t go with everyone. “

Keed’s death comes days after mentor Young Thug and fellow rapper Gunna were arrested for bandits in Atlanta.

“I love you so much baby, what can I do without you,” Keed Quana Bandz’s girlfriend wrote on Instagram on Saturday.

The two have been named in a blunt gang charge with many other rappers on the label. According to the NYT, the prosecution alleged that YSL was “a street criminal gang responsible for murders, robberies, drug trafficking and more.”

“YSL is a family, YSL is a label,” Keed, who was not arrested or named on the indictment, posted on social media in the news. “YSL is a lifestyle, YSL is a lifestyle, YSL is not a gang.”

Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, said in a statement to Page Six at the time: “Mr Williams has not committed any violation of the law. We will fight this case with ethics, legality and zeal. Mr Williams will be fired.

Gunna’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comments on Page Six.
