The decision to support mayoral candidate Antonio Romano, rather than candidate Paolo Di Maio, has a programmatic and political basis for Italy Viva.
Renzian explained this with a press release not without criticism: “After a few months of intense work, and after preparing a list to support him and his coalition, it was not possible to close the existing differences on the electoral program and on the political vision – the administrative office of the city of Nocera Inferiore. Moreover, The mayoral candidate proved to be the small guarantor of all the coalition forces. After a short interview with the Romanian mayor candidate, we convinced his project to support him and we are now on the field with a roster of professionals, youth and women who have decided to embrace the values and commitment of Italia Viva.”
