The event, which offers concerts by the great contemporary masters of classical music at various wineries in Narbonnais, will take place for the first time in the middle of the summer season. Several attractive dates that can also seduce holiday enthusiasts in the area.
To adapt to the health measures that still prevailed a year ago, “My Vineyard in Music” 2021 had significantly changed its formula, spreading its concerts from spring to October. Given the success of this new setup, what could have been just a hiatus is finally destined to last. “We realized that this was in response to a request from the public, seeking a more extensive offer over time.”, explains Cyril Guillotin, founder and artistic director of the festival. The event goes a little further this year, inviting classical music throughout the summer.
The festivities will begin in June, with two events on the 19th highlighting the young musicians destined to become the great artists of tomorrow, as the festival has done since its inception. At 4 pm in the castle of Paraza, Angelina Natal will play Mendelssohn, Prokofiev and Chopin. “An exceptional young pianist, winner 2021 of the national Prodige-Art competition”, insists Cyril Guillotin. A “impressive interpretive maturity” which enabled him to perform in prestigious cultural and historical places … such as the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.
In the process, at 5.30 pm, the famous “Generation Spedidam” concert will take over. Winners here are nine representatives of the excellence of their generation: they come separately in previous editions, Magali Mosnier i Romain Descharmes this time he will form a beautiful “flute-piano” duo to make the works of Poulenc, Prokofiev and Schubert shine.
After offering the scoop to the kids on June 24 as part of a school session, the show Meet Frédéric Chopin will be played in public on Sunday, June 26, at 4.30 pm, at the Ginestas Cultural Animation Center. The pianist will gather on stage Alexandra Lescure and the musicologist Etienne Kippelen in the narrative, for a fascinating musical and theatrical account of Chopin’s Polish passions, loves, travels and nostalgia, always through his works and literary evocations of the Paris of the Restoration.
Direction July for the next date, at the Château Le Bouïs de Gruissan. July 11 at 5:30 p.m. to be exact, with the lead “Bach’s suite specialist” in the person of Guillaume Martigne. The man will play the famous Ssuites for cello sol by the illustrious composer, works among the most masterful in the repertoire.
The summer of “My vineyard in music” will end on August 27 in Bouïs with Memoirs of the Alhambraand the arrival at the festival of a new instrument. “For the guitar entry into the lineup, it was important to choose a world gem”, sums up Cyril Guillotin. The rare pearl has a name: the prodigy Liat Cohen who will be, that day, the privileged interpreter of Latin classical music.
